Residents flocked to West Park last weekend for the annual Music in the Park event.
The popular event organised by Friends of West Park (FOWP) returned to the park on Sunday, August 29 and saw local musicians including Molly Curtis, The Estates, the 1990s, Offbeat, Joe Hodgson, The Soul Collective take to the bandstand to entertain crowds. New for 2021, the Freedom Road Collective Stage also welcomed Eleanor Hodgson, Claudia Hewan and talented young people from Freedom Road Collective. FOWP chair, Georgina Petty said: “A huge thank you to all the volunteers, the Clean Goole Campaign Group litter pickers, our fantastic artists, West Park Cafe, Goole Town Council and everyone who came along and supported the event “A special thanks to Ian at Freedom Road Collective, Chris Miley and Jake Hepworth for their hard work with tech, sound and pulling all this together with us. “We would also like to thank everyone who attended for keeping the park tidy during and after the event. “It was brilliant to see so little litter being left. A fantastic job by Clean Goole Campaign, FOWP and all the respectful park users.” She added: “It was all made possible by a Do it For East Yorkshire grant. Plenty more to do, we hope to build on this next year with a couple of tweaks under less challenging circumstances.”
